Summary: A little story about a girl named Samantha, and career day at her school. And what she thinks about her parents...

Authors note: This is a story I thought up while on the train. What if the strange and unlikely ever happened, and Mulder and Scully ever had a kid? Yikes! The fanfic opportunities! God, this story is sheer and pure fun, and is highly unlikely to ever happen on the X-Files, thank the lord! I wrote it from Samantha point of view. I tried to figure out what it would be like. I made her 13 years old at the time.

Samantha rolled her pencil back and forth over her notebook. The day was progressing so slowly, every minute droned by at an antagonizing pace.

Career day. God! A stupid invention developed by the slowly diminishing workforce, looking for young minds to bend into embarking on the exciting career of "such and such" while still in middle school. She sighed. She had no idea why the school ever tried to force them into liking this. To some, it was a fly by substitute for Algebra, for her, it was the intellectual equivalent of a root canal. The lineup had been established. Linda Falcon's mom the secretary, then one of the 7th grade teachers, then Malcom Sheen's dad the surgeon, than Melissa Manners mom, the biochemist, and the list goes on.

She had her heart set on being a writer, and coincidentally, there was a soul in this building that had any experience with publications.

Today was mainly a waste of time, where students escorted by their over-eager employed parents to school. At that moment, she silently reminded herself, to never set foot in a school after she wasn't required to. She groaned remembering the issues of parent-teacher conferences, bake sales, and soccer games. "Maybe I'll never have kids" she told herself, under the back ground noise of passing students in the hall outside. Her homeroom teacher was just glowing with anticipation, it was like she had never seen adults other than teachers before. Samantha caught herself being bitter, and sighed again. She was making too big of a deal about this. Today wasn't her favorite day for another reason. HER parents.

She smiled bluntly at the fact that she had cleverly disposed of the notice that she was instructed to bring home. She had prayed to god that Mrs. Cleaborn didn't call and ask them to come, being law enforcement and all. They were FBI agents, but to her, that was just not at all interesting. Yeah, sure, she tried to put herself in the shoes of the other students. They would be full of questions. "Do you carry a gun? and the ever popular "Can I see your badge?"

She mentally scolded herself. She was being as negative as possible, on purpose. There was something in her gut, that told her that she wished they were there. "No" she thought. "it's better that they're not."

She slammed her notebook shut, and stopped fidgeting with her pencil. When her parents did come to school, they looked normal, but even then, she carried out her respected duty as a teenager, and became embarrassed to the highest, possible extent. She didn't do it on purpose, but she did it so, unconsciously.

When she was little, she considered her parents the coolest people on earth, as did every other five-year- old on the planet. Parents are your idols when your little. Back then she would go around telling everyone they worked for the FBI. Even to the less "advanced" kids, who just stared blankly at her, wondering what her parents had to do with the alphabet... But maybe, her parents weren't THAT bad. They were after all her parents, she wasn't supposed to see them as humans. She smiled. Nobody between the ages of 9-18 saw their parents as humans. Samantha slid back into her seat, a little more comfortably, and stared out the window. Them being at school, and telling everyone about their profession, on the other hand, would be a different story. She never once in her life questioned her dad's belief in extraterrestrials. He had told her about almost everything, and even though she knew how strongly he believed, some of it still left her confused. There was a lot that had happened in his life, and in her mom's but, she understood that some of it was hard to explain to your daughter. Yet, she knew she was named after her dad's sister. There was too much to think about, so she tried not to think. Bringing them to school would probably be the wrong choice. She was pretty sure the kids in her class would get a load of the alien talk.

Well, she wasn't exactly sure what they'd think. She wasn't sure what her PARENTS would say. She didn't know if they would even mention what field that actually investigated in. "Yeah, it's a better choice not having them here." she thought. Out of her friends that have met her parents, their responses were pretty much the same. They seemed normal enough. "Maybe, they are normal," she thought "They can't be". Actually, at parents conferences, all the teachers say is how much she looks like her mom. Well, she has blue eyes and her mom's facial features, but she has dark hair like her dad. And, she has her dad's height. Unfortunately. It's hard being taller than the boys in seventh grade.

She checked the clock. Almost time for period one. The day ahead looked long, and well, pretty boring. The bell rang. Everyone stood up and began moving out like live stock. She decided to try to forget about her parents for a while. "Whatever, they are my parents. And they are FBI agents" she sighed and shuffled of down the hall. Not thinking about anyone in particular, just school, and careers.

The End

Note: Wasn't that interesting. Ha! I did that just cause I wanted to, not cause I thought it had a good plot, on the story was realistic, just cause I like to write stuff that is just FUN to write. Hope you enjoyed it! Email me, I love to talk!
