Title: Family Ties
Author: Mary (I really should think of a pseudonym for this one)
Rating: Let me see...I would rate it PG-13, but would incest make it R automatically?
Category: Doesn't really fit in anywhere. For me, it was amusing but that's not exactly its genre
Disclaimer: The characters used in the following fic are not mine and even if I asked permission kindly, they wouldn't allow me to treat them in this way *g* They belong to Chris Carter, 1013 production, and everyone else except me :(

Summary: Mulder finds his family is more extended than he ever imagined possible. (SET BEFORE AMOR FATI)

Notes: Written just to prove to you that I am a scary twisted freak who should not be allowed to live *g* I probably should warn you that it involves interbreeding of the characters in The X-Files. Incest. Disgusting, I know. Don't read it if you think you'll be offended *g*

MAIN Note: UTTERLY IMPLAUSIBLE!!!

The old man exhaled the smoke into the younger man's face as he huskily breathed his name, "Fox."

Mulder screwed his eyes up a little to see through the cloud of smoke, in a silent acknowledgment of the man's addressing of him.

The man, whose full name was known only by himself continued, "It's time you knew. It's time you knew about your family.

And this time, the whole truth."

Mulder raised an eyebrow, with a skepticism that would be the envy of his partner. He motioned towards the dark haired woman who he could just see was also in the room. "So what's she doing here?"

"All in good time. Fox, the first revelation I feel it is time to make to you is that *I* am your biological father."

Mulder swallowed hard, eyes blazing, and stared at the man challengingly. "I don't believe you. My mother wouldn't lie to me. She wouldn't!"

As Mulder began to get up to leave in disgust, the older man blocked his way. "I don't expect you to believe me at first, Fox. But before you leave there is more you must hear."

"I'm not listening to your lies! You underhanded plots to stop me and my work from finding you out!"

"Diana." The smoking man wrapped an arm around the woman who was almost hidden by the darkness. Mulder's interest was sparked a little at the mention of that name.

"What about her?"

"Diana is your older half sister. You share a father in me."

A loud gasp of horror was heard by the door of the room, and all three turned to see Scully, who had just entered the room.

Mulder stood motionless, unable to speak, unable to think.

"You lying son of a bitch!" Mulder he finally managed to shout.

"What kind of sick pleasure do you gain from spinning and telling me these fallacies?!" He shook his head in disgust and began to make his way to the door.

"Don't believe this, and you're not believing your own family's truths! If you can't handle this, how do you expect to handle the whole truth?"

Mulder refused to look back, but was stopped in his tracks by Diana's voice. "It's true, Fox. You can see the documentation, have DNA tests done, everything. It will all point to the same conclusion - we're not lying to you."

Mulder was a little startled by Diana's contribution, and he gulped as his brain began to make connections quickly, and it all began to fall into place. He shook his head - it could not be true - could it?

"But for now, there's more you should know," Diana spoke again.

Mulder eyed her warily. "What?"

"Fox," Diana stepped into the shaft of light that illuminated the room dimly, revealing a large, rounded bump in her abdominal area. "I'm pregnant. And he -" she nodded towards the man puffing at his cigarette, "Is the father."

Scully began to splutter, while Mulder's face turned to a picture of horror and repulsion.

"You're going to be an uncle, Fox." Diana smiled weakly.

"But - but - if he's my father, isn't the child my brother or sister?!"

Diana sighed dejectedly, "Technically, yes, your half brother or sister."

"So, I..." Mulder thought for a second, "Am my own uncle?!"

Diana pondered on the thought for a second. "Yes. But hang on a minute, Fox! This has implications for me too! I'm my own mother!"

"And my child is my grandchild!" the cigarette smoking man exclaimed.

Mulder nearly spat in disgust. "Have you even thought about this child's genes?! It's going to be a mess! When's it due Diana?" he asked angrily. No reply. "Diana?"

Diana gasped in pain. "Now!"

Mulder cursed loudly, then grudgingly assisted the father of the baby on its way in helping Diana to a car. Soon, they all, including Scully despite Diana's grumblings, were on their way to the secret location CSM had prepared for the imminent birth.

Diana was in labor for five hours, giving Scully plenty of time to list to Mulder all possible genetic mutations. There were a lot, and to be frank, this baby had no chance of being without considerable deformation.

Diana let out a wail as she entered the final stages of the birth. Everyone in the room - Mulder, Smokey, Scully and a doctor, peered over to see the baby's head emerge. It was not somewhere Scully had ever wanted to peer, but she wanted to see exactly how much of a mess this child was. To be honest, she couldn't imagine any offspring of Diana's being particularly endearing, but this! This could be truly revolting.

The crown of the baby's head seemed normal enough, a little larger than usual, perhaps, but not absolutely abnormal.

However, it soon was clear that not only the crown, but the whole head was absolutely enormous. No wonder Diana was having such spasms of pain! The rest of the body came out, and the four people just stared. Stared and stared at the bloody, mangled mess Diana and CSM had produced.

Scully gulped a little and smiled briefly at Fowley, "Well, Diana..." she gazed at the baby."..it certainly has your eyes..."

The End

I am truly ashamed! How could I be such a sick and twisted freak?!
