Summary: Walter, Alex and Alexander celebrate a special day.

"Dada!"

A small fist thumped on the door.

"DADA!"

Alex groaned and turned over, pulling the pillow over his head as he moved. Walter groped around on the nightstand for his glasses and leaned up to check the clock.

6:05 a.m.

He too groaned, before falling back on the bed.

"Okay Alexander, just one minute," he called out patiently, reaching over to turn on the lamp and pull the pillow from off his lover.

"Up and at 'em Daddy, the birthday boy is here." He placed a quick kiss on the back of his lover's neck and blew softly into his ear. Alex growled, but as always it got him moving. He switched on his own lamp and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. He had been looking forward to this day; he just hadn't expected it to begin so early. It was Alexander's fourth birthday and was the first on which he genuinely understood the concept.

There had been a lot of excitement last year on the day, but this year with Alexander's developing concept of time, there had been an anxious countdown that had begun the previous week. Walter, in the interests of self-preservation, had ended up making a 'countdown calendar' that used breakfasts, lunches, dinners and bedtimes as its standard unit of measure. It had worked like a charm and Alexander had meticulously crossed off each event with a surprising amount of patience.

Patience was all used up now, however, and the diminutive fists began a tribal beat as Walter padded across the rug to the door. He opened the door and there was Alexander, waiting for permission to enter as he had been taught, looking like a jumping bean dressed in Pikachu pyjamas.

"Dada, Dada, my birthday!" he called out in an excited voice.

Walter mock growled and reached down behind the child. Grabbing him firmly round the waist he swung him up into his arms, turning him upside down in the process. The action brought forth a gale of laughter, which quickly turned to giggles as Walter began to nibble at the convenient toes.

"Dada, don't eat Alexander," Alex pleaded playfully, "I'll make you breakfast."

Walter dropped the squirming body into Alex's lap and rumbled, "Well … okay … as long as it's a big breakfast."

"A big birthday breakfast," Alexander prompted, as he wrapped himself round his Daddy in a morning hug.

"We haven't forgotten, half pint," Walter assured him, putting on his slippers and robe. "Let's go put some candles on the English muffins."

Alexander reached up towards him, as he scolded, "Silly Dada, candles on cake - not muffins."

Walter caught him under the arms and swung him up onto his shoulders.

"Well, if we put them on the muffins as well, it means you'll get to blow them out twice and …" Walter paused for emphasis, " … you get to make two wishes."

"Okay," Alexander agreed happily, "two times … one … two … one … two " picking up the rhythm of his father's marching feet.

Walter, carrying his burden left the room, remembering, much to Alex's relief, to hunker down as he went out through the door. The little boy was growing at such a rate it wouldn't be long before such a thing would be impossible. Alex mused on how Alexander was not only going to look like his Dad, but how he was also going to have the same build. The thought made him smile.

He followed them downstairs and into the kitchen, where he poured out juice for all three, before starting the coffee. Walter was, yet again, running through the day's schedule with their son.

"… after breakfast we clean up the kitchen and you take your bath and get dressed. Then we go over and pick up your cake -"

"My Pikachu cake?" Alexander questioned.

"That's the one you picked, half pint," Walter told him patiently.

"Okay," Alexander said satisfied.

"Then we drive to … Hersheypark …" the pointed emphasis on the name being laid for Alex's benefit.

The two of them had had a lengthy and lively discussion about Alex's unilateral choice of venue for the birthday party. Needless to say, after the 'discussion' they had ended up in bed together for some really interesting and contentious sex.

Alex didn't miss the opportunity. "Yeah, Hersheypark, Hersheypark … " he chanted, punching his spatula in the air.

"For chocolate and rides!" Alexander shouted, clapping.

Walter considered that for a moment. "Rides first - then chocolate ..." he clarified.

Alex snorted as he poured the eggs into the pan.

"... with your Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Joe and Aunt Cathy and Beth and Jack," Walter continued.

"And they give me presents?" Alexander asked hopefully.

It was Walter's turn to snort then. "That's it kid, cut right to the chase."

Alex put the platter of bacon on the table and bent down to blow a raspberry into Alexander's neck. "Yeah, baby, presents."

Alexander giggled loudly.

"But it's gonna be a while before that happens," Walter warned, "and … Hersheypark is a loooong drive away."

"So that's why you're gonna get our presents now," Alex said as he put down the eggs, no longer able to wait.

Alexander was up and in the hallway before Walter could get a single word out, Alex two steps behind him. The older father put the breakfast in the oven and trooped happily behind them. After all, he was looking forward to this part himself.

Alex had their son seated in the middle of the family room. From behind the couch he produced a large box with the obligatory Pikachu wrapping paper and matching bow. He set it down in front of the little boy, then disappeared a second time to fetch a bundle of smaller packages.

Alexander looked up at his Dada who smiled and said, "Go ahead, half pint, it's all yours."

Then he sat down and began helping the little fingers with the tightly tied ribbon. Alex returned with a third armful of brightly wrapped gifts and joined them on the floor.

Walter looked up from the excited unwrapping and eyed the packages.

"Don't start, Walter, I'm not the only one with 'extras'." Alex whispered, smiling at him.

Walter shrugged sheepishly and got back to the task at hand.

Quickly, the shredded paper was removed to reveal the long awaited 'Hasbro Talking Pikachu'.

Alexander was beaming from ear to ear.

"It's Pikachu," Alex said, sounding surprised. "Well, imagine that!"

They spent an hour on the floor, playing with the new toys and munching on the breakfast Walter had retrieved from the oven. Alexander 'butterflied' from the Poke mom toy, to his new flashlight - armed with which all three of them had to squeeze into the darkness of the hall closet so Alexander could try it out - to the stack of books and big tub of grown-up Lego. Only the arrival of the mailman interrupted the fun, as Walter accompanied Alexander to the front door to help with the birthday cards and packages.

He opened the card from his Dads first. It had a big yellow button bearing the message 'You Are 4!'. Walter helped him pin it on his pyjamas.

"How old are you today, baby?" Alex questioned.

Alexander held up four chubby fingers. "This much," he said, and began to count off. "One … two … three … four!"

"Clever boy," Alex praised. "So how old is Daddy?"

"This much," Alexander held up all ten fingers.

"Then how old is Dada?" Alex continued, ignoring the warning look from Walter.

Alexander looked perplexed for a few seconds, then he smiled and stretched his hands as wide as he could.

Alex never got to finish the belly laugh, for a plump cushion popped him square on the nose and left his dark hair standing on end.

Seeing his surprised expression, Alexander and Walter took up the laughter and were soon rolling about on the floor. Having only one possible course of action Alex pounced on his son and partner, and began to exact a tickled revenge. The whole melee lasted for several minutes and left the two men in a state of winded exhaustion. Alexander, on the other hand, picked his way over them and began opening the presents that had arrived in the mail.

They had another hour of reading cards and play before Alex gathered together the breakfast dishes and carried them to the kitchen. Walter and Alexander packed the torn wrappings into a garbage bag. As he worked, Alex listened to the intense negotiations going on the family room about how many of the toys Alexander could keep out, and how many should be put away for later enjoyment.

Alex smirked, for all the simplicity of the child's language he had the persuasive tongue of a used car dealer. Walter was being backed rapidly into a corner and Alex considered it time to don his responsible parent hat. He threw down the dishtowel and walked to the family room, calling Alexander's name.

"Dada's right, baby," he said firmly. "There are too many new things for you to play with all at once, so chose the four things you want to play with now and we'll put the rest carefully away until later."

Walter smiled at him gratefully then watched as their son made his choice. Pikachu, of course, was the primary selection, but they were both pleased when he chose the book, 'How to Bake an Apple Pie and See the World', then his flashlight, then his Lego. The four items they had picked out together for him at Toys 'R' Us.

The rest of the day was a blur of blue skies, roller coasters and sticky children. At shortly after nine, Alex carried a soundly sleeping Alexander up to his bedroom. Together they took off his shorts and t-shirt, wiped the worst of the chocolate from his flushed, angelic face and tucked him into bed. Content that his son was settled for the night, Alex trailed into the master bedroom and collapsed face first into the comforter. Walter, in a similar state of exhaustion, was not far behind, but as he entered the room, his attention was caught by the tantalizing vision of Alex's ass, whose perfect shape could not be disguised by the baggy shorts covering it. In immediate response to the inspirational sight, a certain part of his anatomy began to stir with eager and lustful intent.

'Life in the old dog yet,' he mused as he began to strip.

He fetched a towel from the bathroom and smacked it across Alex's behind.

"Ow," Alex yelped, "let me die here in peace." But he rolled over onto his back to find his big, buff lover standing beside the bed in a deliberately provocative pose, the white towel slung around his neck and held tautly at either end in his strong hands.

His gaze immediately travelled southward and was rewarded with the sight of Walter's magnificent, half hard cock.

He smiled a slow, sexy smile at his naked lover and began to undress.

"What brought this on?" he asked.

"Your ass is irresistible," Walter explained, "and that's official."

Alex's smile broadened. "Well, you know what they say … resistance is futile … "

Together they headed for the shower.
