Title: Tyger Tyger Author: Aeslehc Nametab Written Jan. 1997 Okay here it is! La piece de la resistance! This little piece has got to be by far the best piece I've ever written... its very different than other fanfics but I think you'll like it..... Disclaimer: Once upon a time, in a land very detached from this reality a magic sorcerer named Chris Carter cast a spell over a large number of people world wide. He made these self-called "X-Philes" believe in something as trivial as a television show with undying loyalty. He gave them a handsome god and beautiful goddess named Mulder and Scully to guide them in there miserable existence. But in secret, some self-called "relationshippers" started an underground archive of tales of undying love between their god and goddess. The following is just such a tale. (translation: Mr. Carter, I adore you, please don't sue my sorry ass! I mean no copyright infringement) Rated r for adult language. Summary: In an alternate universe, a teenage Dana Scully falls for a bad boy named Fox Mulder. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Eerie, Indiana Dana Katherine sat in her Physics 12 class at St. Mary's High School for Girls, silently working out the problems in front of her. She was quite the site to see, in her uniform, consisting of a knee length kilt, a prim white blouse, a blue sweater, white knee socks, and black Mary Janes. Her long curly, fire red hair was neatly pulled back into a bun at the back of her head, with out one hair straying out. She sat with her face screwed up in concentration, absent-mindedly chewing on the end of her pencil. A loud screeching outside broke her thought line and she looked out, along with the rest of the class to see who it was. A car had pulled up into the school's parking lot and was now parked across three parking spots. A tall male, in his late teens, early twenties got out of the car and sat up on the hood. He was a handsome man, dressed in faded black jeans and a Knicks jersey, a leather jacket slung over his shoulder. He lit up a cigarette and began to smoke it in a leisurely fashion. A titter went through the classroom, as the girls murmured about him. "He's dreamy!" called one girl on Scully's left. Scully's best friend Helen leaned over to her to whisper. "That's Fox Mulder. He's the one whose dating Phoebe Green, you know, that senior who got caught with the priest two years ago and only was let back in the school because her dad is a major finical backer. They say Fox is a real bad boy, and a little weird. Talks about weird things, you know. Last month they found him and Phoebe shagging in the back seat of his car out behind the school. I wish I would have found him and could have gotten an eyeful of that naked bum." Dana blushed clear up to her hair line in embarrassment of her friend's dirty comment and the fact that such a creature was so near by. "Helen!" was all she could manage. "Oh, Dana!! Look at him, can you blame me? They call him Foxy Mulder and I can see why. He's so sexy!" Sister Careen noticed the commotion in the classroom and sharply called out for everyone to settle down. Dana looked out at him smoking the cigarette and found herself being lead astray. She wished she was out there with him, sitting on the warm hood, sucking down that cigarette with such ease and carelessness. Although she wouldn't even admit it to herself, she was extremely attracted to him. He was the dark side, a place where Dana had always been taught was wrong to even acknowledge. Yet here was a creature, living in this "horrid" place that was in all of us. Her questionable gift allowed her to feel a blackness about him, a shadow even, in his very soul. She had always been able to feel colors around people, although she never understood what it was. Once, when she was six., she had told her mother about how she was surrounded in a pinky whiteness she had received a spanking and a harsh reprimanding lecture in return. Since then she had lived in shame with this gift, trying her hardest to unsuccessfully ignore it. As if feeling her eyes upon him, Fox looked up to her window and directly into her eyes. She was overcome with embarrassment at being caught staring and quickly looked down at her book. When she finally dared to look up again a few minutes later, she was shocked to still find his eyes on her. But this time, she found it impossible to turn her eyes away. He held her gaze intently, a slight smile playing on his lips. He then, quite blatantly, swept her body with his eyes. He then returned to her face and his smile grew larger. She, going against everything she was taught, followed the tiny voice inside her head and smiled back a little saucy smile at him. He cocked his eyebrow at her in surprise, and she grinned her pretty smile at him. Their moment was broken by Phoebe bounding up to the car and throwing her arms around him, laying a passionate kiss on him. Dana had never really liked her before and wasn't prone to violent tendencies, but now she wanted nothing more than to strangle the bitch. Dana was shocked at the sudden amount of passion and wildness he had brought to her, or rather out of her. She chided herself and looked away from the window, not allowing herself a peep to see him leave. A few moments later she heard the car start and screech out of the parking lot. She shook her head at herself, realizing now she had to go to Confession after school. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Dana walked home after school, her head down, her books clasped to her chest. She knew three "Hail Marys" awaited her, punishment for her impure thoughts that afternoon. She was just chastising herself again for her heedlessness when she heard a car pull up beside her. She looked over and saw Fox Mulder's Mustang sitting beside her, with the man himself leaning out the open window, grinning at her. She went red at being so close to him and quickly looked away, hurrying up her walking to escape. He wouldn't let her get away that easily, keeping his car crawling beside her as she walked. "Hey there little girl, what's your name?" he asked in a joking tone. She was too frightened to respond and still kept her head forward. "Did your Mommy teach you never to speak to strangers? You're not afraid of me, are you little girl?" There was something in his tone when he said the last sentence, a challenge. She felt her Irish courage and pride suddenly pump through her and whipped around to meet his dare. With her back straight and her chin up she looked at him coolly, one reddish eyebrow arching. "My name is of no concern of yours," she said, staring him down. He only smiled at her even more, a knowing glint in his eye. "Don't you want me to know you're name, little girl?" "I assure you, Mr. Mulder. . ." "Hey now!" he cut her off. "That's not fair, you know my name! Play nice, little girl." She looked at him and realized that he was trying to egg her on, trying to trick her into telling him her name. She grinned like Cheshire cat at him as she spoke. "I never play fair, and I can tell that you don't either, Mr. Mulder." He grinned back at her, liking her even more now that she refused to fall into his little traps. "Even so, please would you call me Mulder? Only my father is Mr. Mulder." "Why not Fox?" she asked in genuine curiosity. "I'll tell you if you tell me your name." They both smiled at one another, seeing the game that was forming between them. "Dana Scully." She complied and he looked sincerely pleased. "Dana, eh? That's a very pretty name." she ducked her head a bit, never being one who took compliments well. He caught it and his smile faded a bit. "What's wrong, haven't you ever been told you have a pretty name?" She shook her head, still not looking at him. "I guess no one's also never told you that you're very beautiful yourself," he said it in a truthful tone, and when she looked up at him in astonishment she saw no lies on his face. She flushed and flounced for a moment. "You didn't keep your end of the bargain," she said, desperate to change the subject. "I never even let my parents call me Fox. But you can if you want." His smile returned again, yet he still looked at her with an intense gaze. "Would you like a ride home?" The idea was so shocking that Dana could subdue her reaction. "Oh, no!! No!!" She saw his face drop a bit and realized she may have hurt him. She quickly tried to apologize for her comments but Fox waved them away. "Don't worry about it, Dana. I wouldn't want to get you in trouble with Daddy. Baby should get home now." He reached out and took one of her hands and raised it to his lips very gently. Dana felt shocks go up her arm and her hand tingle in his touch. "Run along home now little girl." And with that he was gone, leaving her in a pool of her own emotions. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The next day, as she sat in her English Literature class, the familiar screech of his car was heard again outside in the parking lot. She looked out and he was grinning up at her. She looked away quickly, remembering the promise she made to herself that she would no longer have anything to do with him. But her curiosity was stronger and she looked back over at him. He made a gestured for her to come out to him and see him. She shook her head at him, telling him she couldn't. He grinned at her and repeated the gesture, telling her to come any ways. She around and saw that the teacher was busy at her desk, not really noticing what was happening in the class. She actually thought about it for the briefest moment, then realized what she was doing. She looked back out at him and shook her head. He looked visibly disappointed with her and she felt ashamed that she was such a coward. He put up three fingers to tell her he'd be back at three, after school like yesterday. With that he started up the car and drove off. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ After school she stood in the parking lot, debating whether or not to stay and wait for him. She knew she should head home, sending him a clear message that she didn't want anything to do with him. This was her chance to walk away and end all this. But she didn't want to end it, deep down she knew she was enjoying it. She had never even had a boyfriend before, and never got any attention from the opposite sex. She was always very distant, so much so that boys didn't want to make the effort to reach her. She had always thought it was because she was ugly and plain, but his words had caused her to doubt that. Now she wondered if maybe, just maybe she was pretty. She clung to his compliment with all her might, and it made her want to see him again. He thinks I'm beautiful said the little voice in her head over and over again. She debated for so long that she was still there when he arrived. He smiled at her standing there, looking painfully shy at the fact she was waiting. "Hello, Dana. Thank you for waiting for me." He leaned over and opened the passenger side door. "Will you join me?" "Where would we be going?" she asked with her little Mona Lisa smile. "Anywhere you want, Princess." She stood there for a moment, thinking about it. She looked down at his face, a bit of hopefulness in his eyes and got into the car. "It's an honor to have such a fine lady as yourself in my car." he said, grinning at her as he pulled out of the parking lot. As they left they passed Helen whose jaw fell to the ground when she saw Dana in Fox Mulder's car. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ He drove them around town for a while, going through the drive through to buy her a drink and fries, but refusing to give them to her. "Not yet, Baby," he said lightly brushing her cheek with his fingers, causing it to stain with her blush. He drove them up to a secluded park on the outskirts of town and pulled her out of the car to sit on the hood with him. "Now can I have my food?" she asked, trying to grab it. He grinned at her and pushed her down. "Let Daddy feed it to you, Baby." He held a fry up in front of her and she angrily slapped his hand out of her face. "Stop treating me like a child, Fox," she said with narrowed eyes. He smiled at her defiance and handed her her food. "I'm sorry, Dana," he said as he sat back and watched her eat. Silence fell, and she felt acutely aware of his eyes on her. He was enjoying the site in front of him, Dana in her uniform, hair tightly pulled back, eyes downcast, skin glowing like perfect porcelain. He reached out and touched her cheek, wanting to experience the feel of that perfect skin again. He was close to her now, and she dared to dart her eyes up to him every once in a while. "Dana," he said softly and she felt her heart start pounding. "Are you scared of me?" "No!" she looked up at him to reassure him. "I'm not scared of you." "You're scared of what I can make you do." "No one makes me do anything," she said in a serious tone, and he smiled at her vain independence. "Au contraire, Dana. Your parents and the Catholic church tell you what to do. And what's worse is that you obey them." She was shocked by his blatant disrespect for the church as an authority, but he continued on. "Don't you want some freedom, Dana? Wouldn't you like to be in control of your life instead of the church and Mommy and Daddy?" "I-I don't know what you mean." "You can't do anything they might think inappropriate. Like today, what kept you coming out to see me? Didn't you want to?" "Yes, but I couldn't." "Why not?" "It would have been wrong, I would have gotten in trouble." "So?" "So-" "So nothing. If you want to then do it. Stop living for others and start living for yourself. You live to please all these other people, and never dare to taste life on your own accord." He quieted the words that where rushing from her with a finger to her lips. "Think about it Dana, just think about it." She turned away, not liking this closeness, the finger on her lips or his scandalous words. It was too much too fast and she needed to come up for air. 'I can't even believe I'm here, talking to you, on your car. I mean I should be at home, studying or at the church helping out or even with Helen. I can't believe I'm here doing this," she said in total awe. "I know why you're here Dana. You're here because you want to be, and that's why you're feeling so guilty. Not only because you're doing something that you want to do , but it something naughty and wrong. Hanging out with that heathen Fox Mulder." She giggled at him and he was pleased. "You have a pretty laugh." She blushed again, and looked away, out into the distance of the park. He reached over and took her hand into his, running his thumb over hers. She looked back at him and smiled shyly, an act that had a stronger effect on him than she ever imagined. "We better get you home, princess." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "Dana Katherine Scully what were you doing in Fox Mulder's car yesterday after school?" Helen demanded first thing the next morning. Dana blushed at being caught and avoided her friend's searching gaze. "Once I find out I'll tell you," she said cryptically, then walked away. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ He appeared again outside the school that day while she was in her Math class. He winked at her, and she smiled back. She looked over at the teacher and thought about it for a minute, then went up to her. "Sister, I'm not feeling too well, could I go to the nurses room and lay down for the rest of the day?" she asked, her heart beating so loud she swore everyone could hear it. "Oh, of course Dana. You are looking a little flushed." Dana left quickly, and went down to the parking lot. He saw her standing at the front door and smiled at her. She went over to his car and got in not saying anything. "So how does it feel to taste freedom?" he asked her as he started up the car and drove out of the parking lot. "Horrible." she put her face in her hands, feeling more guilty than free. "Well we are just going to have to do something about that." he smiled at her, and lifted her face out of her hands. "Where do you want to go? Today's your first day of freedom, and you get to decide." She smiled a bit at the thought of going anywhere she wanted. "I don't know, Fox, I'm still pretty new at all this. Maybe you should decide for me." "Well first off, as much as that uniform drives me out of my mind, we should get you some different clothing. Most of the places we'll be going to won't let a Catholic schoolgirl in." His words had said so much, that she felt lost. Her uniform drove him out of his mind? Where exactly was he planning on taking her? "We can't go home for me to change, my mother's there." "Well then I guess I'll have to go out and buy you new clothes." he grinned his crooked smile at her. "Plus I don't think that your regular clothes are appropriate for this new freedom." He pulled up to a vintage thrift store and got out, going around to open her door for her. "Here?" she asked. "Here." he assured her. He brought her into the cluttered little store and brought her over to a rack of short little vintage dresses. He found a little red satin shift dress with a flared skirt that ended a few inches above her knee. "Oh, I don't know Fox," she said hesitantly. "Dana, don't think about what your parents or the church would think of it. Do you like it?" She looked at it for a moment, then a smile played on her lips. "I love it," he admitted. "Good let's get it and get the hell out of here." He stopped at a drug store and got her a tube of red lipstick, the first she had ever had. She gingerly and methodically applied it to her doll-like lips in the rearview mirror. He watched her do it and could barely keep from grabbing her. "Do you know what you're doing is driving me crazy?" he asked her and she looked over confused. "What am I doing?" "That answers my question never mind." She smiled slyly at him, then began to pull the pins out of her bun in her hair. He was mesmerized as she untwisted her thick uncontrolled hair and spread it out over her shoulders. She looked over at him shyly, unsure of whether he thought she looked good or not. The effect of her sitting there looking so shy in this form fitting red dress, blood red doll lips and mass of curly red hair falling over her shoulders was breath- taking. He couldn't speak or even move, too overcome by the sight. "Well?" she asked, unsure. "You-"he found his voice "You look beautiful." He reached over and ran his fingers through her hair. "You're hair is gorgeous, you should always wear it down." He continued to rake his fingers through it. She beamed under his adoration, her eyes shining. "So, are we ready to go?" she asked. "Ready as we'll ever be." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ He drove them to a bar on the edge of town. It was a seedy little joint, dark and smoke filled. "Fox, I can't go in there, I'm under age." "I won't tell if you don't," he said, a note of laughter in his voice. She realized how prudish she had sounded and blushed. He opened her car door for her and helped her out. She pulled the dress down a bit and tossed her tousled hair over her shoulders, throwing her chin up. "You look like a queen." he commented, taking her hand in his. He lead her into the bar and to a table in a shadowed corner. He ordered them two beers and settled in pulling her chair over to him. The beers arrived soon afterwards and he began to drink his down as she looked hesitantly at hers. "Try some Dana." he lifted the mug to her lips and tipped it up. She drank a few mouth fulls then took it from him and drinking it on her own. "Don't drink too much too fast dear." he warned but it was too late. Her system, not used to the alcohol, absorbed it like a sponge and she was already tipsy. She giggled slightly, then put the mug down, nearly missing the table. "Oh, Dana, don't tell me you're getting drunk." "You said I could do what ever I wanted. And I am, getting drunk is what I want." her words were being to slur a bit and she was looking slightly unsteady, but it was nothing uncontrollable. . .yet. She heard the strains of sexy jazz that sounded like a strip song coming from the jukebox and grinned. "You wanna know what else I wanna do?" she asked him. "What?" he grinned, enjoying her in this state. "I wanna get up and dance like a little tramp to this music. Would you like to join me?" she said standing up, already swaying her hips slightly. "I'd love to." She pulled him to the dance floor and began to swing her hips around him, running her hands down his front. She smiled at him, a little glint in her eyes as she did, pursing her lips up at him on occasion. He grabbed her and pulled her close, swaying their hips together. The few patrons that were at the bar were all watching with grins. Dana knew it, but she was having to much fun to care. She finally pulled away and went back to the table, now swigging down her second beer. He laughed at her, leaning over to wipe off the beer that had drizzled down her chin. He took a smoke out of his pocket and lit it up, puffing on it slowly. She looked at the cigarette curiously and he handed it to her. She inhaled it slowly, then began to cough and sputter. "It tastes horrible." she grimaced, drinking her beer to get the taste out of her mouth. "I know." he took the smoke back from her. "I didn't say I didn't want it," she said, taking the smoke back. She puffed on it again, getting used to the feel of it. "So now how does freedom feel?" he asked her and she looked over at him, seductively blowing smoke up in the air. "'It feels pretty damn good." With that she swigged down the last of her beer and called the waiter over. "I'll have a screwdriver, please." "Dana, do you have any idea what a screwdriver is? " Fox asked. "No but I'm about to find out." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Two screwdrivers and Bloody Mary later Dana was smashed. She was giggling extensively, then covering her mouth with her hand to contain the giggles until she exploded into a fit of laughter. He grinned at her looking upon her like she were a gamboling kitten. When she went to get a drag off her smoke and poked herself in the eye with it he decided that they should be there no longer. "Dana, we should go now dear," he said to her, getting a blank stare in response. He took her hand and pulled her out to the car, with her waving good-bye to the laughing patrons in the bar. He buckled her in and she grinned stupidly at him. "Where are we going, Fox?" she asked him in a slurred voice. "Never you mind, dear. You just rest." He took her to his little apartment and she looked around shocked. "You live on your own?" she asked, flopping down on the couch. "Yeap, just me and the roaches." "Roaches!" she jumped to her feet and grinned at him. She went over to him and flung her arms around his waist. She lifted her head up to face him and just as he leaned closer, her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she passed out. He barely caught her sinking weight before she fell to the floor. He gathered her limp form up in his arms and carried her back over to the couch, gently laying her down. She looked like an angel, laying there so peacefully. She was out of place in the gloominess of his apartment. She was light, a play of fire that was a stark contrast to the darkness not only in his environment, but in himself as well. He kneeled beside her and stroked her face lightly. "Little girl, do you want to know something?" he whispered into her unhearing ear "I think I'm falling in love with you." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ She woke up the next day, well into the late morning. The first thing she felt was an incredible pounding in her head, then her stomach rolling. She looked around her unfamiliar surroundings and finally spotted Fox sitting beside her. "Where am I?" she said in a small, scratchy voice. "You're at my apartment." She sat up and her stomach revolted. He knew it was coming and rushed her to the bathroom, quickly ducking her head over the toilet. She threw up for some time and he supported her, holding her hair off her face and stroking her back in comfort. She felt utterly embarrassed, ashamed and horribly ill all at once. She finally had a reprieve from the nausea, enough to sit back on the floor in his arms, her head weakly resting back against him. "Ohhhhhh." she moaned. "It's alright, honey, the worst is over," he said gently, stroking her forehead and lightly rubbing her upset stomach "Oh Fox, I feel horrible." she groaned. "Why did I drink so much?" "Because you wanted to." She smiled slightly at this and turned her head so her face was towards his. "Thank you for letting me learn this the hard way." "You're welcome," he said, still stroking her hair. "Do you want me to bring you back to the couch so you can rest some more?" "Yes please." He carefully picked her up and carried her over to the couch. He laid her down gently and pulled a blanket over her. "I'll go get you some Tylenol for your head, baby doll," he said, and went to the kitchen to get it. "I better phone my parents," she called out to him. "School was probably out hours ago." "You could say that," he said returning with the Tylenol. "Dana, it's eleven o'clock Saturday morning." "Oh my God!" she sat up in her shock and was greeted by an intense stabbing pain in her temples. She grimaced and he pushed her back down again, handing her the pills. "Don't worry about it, dear. I called your home last night and said I was a dad of one of your girl friends and that you'd be spending the night with my daughter." "You didn't!!" "I did." "And they believed you?" "They said that they hoped you had fun and to call tomorrow afternoon." "Oh, I'm going straight to hell," she said, putting her hands over her face. "Stop trying to hide," he said pulling her hands away. "You rest now and get better and tonight we'll go to out to a place I was planning on taking you before you got pissed out of your tree last night." "Oh, Fox, no. I have to get home and-" "Why? Because of Mommy and Daddy?" "Fox-" "What does Dana want to do? "Fox-" "Dana-" "Dana. . . wants to stay here with you." "Then that's what we'll be doing. You can phone and say you're going o spend tonight with you 'friend' again and we'll party all night, sober this time of course." he grinned at her like a little boy and tucked the blanket around her some more. She took the Tylenol and laid back, closing her eyes. He hovered close by, gently stroking her face. "So did I make a total ass of myself last night?" "Well, not a total ass." "Oh, Lord. . ." "Oh, He's the last person you should be asking for help." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ After she rested for awhile they left to go out shopping for her again. When she went out this time she wore one of his tighter white t- shirts with her school kilt, now with the top rolled up a few times so it now was a few inches above her knee. "Do you know how sexy that looks?" he said when she came out in the outfit. She blushed and fiddled with the skirt a bit. "I aim to please," she said slyly. When she started to brush the tangles out of her hair, he took the brush from her hand and did it for her. He ran his hand through her hair with it, enjoying the way the light caught it's fiery strands. Before they went out he made her phone her parents and do the dastardly deal. She was relieved when her brother answered, knowing she wouldn't have to actually have to talk to her parents. "Bill, tell Mommy and Ahab that I'll be staying at my, ah, friend's again tonight and that I'll try to call them sometime tonight," she said, her heart beating rapidly due to her lying. They left and went back to the thrift store they had visited the day before. "Buy yourself a few nice things Dana." he insisted and she smiled at the possibilities. She found a pair of low riding black pants that flared at the bottom; Fox had endorsed them fully, liking the way they clung to her body. She bought a deep blue satin collared shirt as well as a pair of rather short shorts made of a silver irredentist material that he convinced her to purchase. He also insisted that she buy a man's dress shirt and a tie, saying he loved a woman in men's clothing, and got her a pair of black platform boots. 'You actually think I'll be able to walk in these?" she laughed as she tried them on. 'You'll learn, besides they'll look incredible with the shorts." He bought it all for her, despite her protests. He assured her that he wanted to do this, and that they'd be back next week to buy her a suit, and some better shoes. She insisted that she would pay for these next items and he smiled and said nothing in return. They went back to his apartment so she could change. "So where are we going tonight?" she asked as she routed through her bags of clothes, trying to decide what to wear. "I figured you'd like to shake your bootie to some real jazz. There's this little joint a couple miles outta town. . ." "You certainly know about a lot of little joints around here don't you?" she interjected. 'I make it my business to know. As I was saying, there's this joint and they always have live jazz bands and singers on Saturday night. I thought we'd give that place it's day in court." "Okay, I'll be right back." she took the bags into the bathroom to change. She emerged a while later to catch Fox in the middle of a heated discussion on the phone, unknown to him. "Yes, I know, but I'm busy tonite. I know we had a date last night, but something came up, okay? Listen, I don't have to take this." With that he slammed down the phone and looked away. She went back into the bathroom and pretended as if she was just coming out then. His worn eyes lit up when he saw her, dressed in the low riding pants and the deep blue shirt with only the few middle buttons done up so her bare midriff above the pants showed. Her hair was up in a high ponytail so her face was free of it, and she had put on the red lipstick again. "So do I look good?" she said twirling around in front of him. "You know you look good," he said grinning at her. "Well, then let's get the hell out of here." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ The "little Joint" turned out to be a hopping little place that was full of people of all kinds. Fox brought her in and they sat down at a table to listen to the band tinkering out the jazz. People milled about, and Dana noticed that the large majority of the male eyes were on her. 'Fox, why are all these men staring at me? Is there something on my face or something?" she said to him. "Dana, the reason they're staring at you is because you look incredible." he laughed as she looked so shocked. "You really have no idea do you?" "Idea about what?" "Idea about your own attractiveness, but that's what makes it so incredible. Most women use it as a tool, a weapon. You, however are totally oblivious to the power you hold." She thought about what he was saying, and wondered if she really was as attractive as he was going on about. She then ducked her head to hide a sly smile, thinking she might know a little bit more about the power she possessed than he thought. A black singer had now gotten up on stage and was singing her heart out. Dana listened and got fully into the song, feeling it infiltrate her very soul. He pulled her to her feet and they went out to the dance floor. He held her close as they danced to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" sung in the most incredible version Dana had ever heard. They danced most of the night, Dana even forgot where she was as she melted into the moment. He let her mental wander away from him as she let go of some of her inhibitions. When she finally returned to him she looked up into his eyes with a strange light in her eyes, and he felt like she could see into his very soul. "Blackness, so much blackness." she whispered to him and he looked at her perplexed. "What blackness?" "In you, blackness." she looked even more intensely into his eyes, then finding what she was looking for, tears formed in her eyes. "What's wrong?" "It's-it's. . .I'm not supposed to. . ." she turned away the tears now pouring down her cheeks. She ran away from him and went outside trying to hide from him. He ran after her and caught her crouched down by his car her face in her hands. He knelt down in front of her and pulled her hands off her face. "What's wrong, baby doll, please tell me, I''m worried." she looked up at him for a moment deciding. "I was told that I should be ashamed of it, that it was wrong." "Ashamed of what, baby doll?" "I can see-, no, I can't tell you, I'm supposed to ignore it." "Who told you to ignore it?" 'My mom, she said that she'd take me to the priest for an exorcism if I didn't ignore it." "You can't ignore it can you?" "I tried, but it's so a part of me." "What is it, Dana?" "I can't tell you, Fox." "Dana do you trust me?" She looked intensely at him, with all levity. "You're the only one trust." "Then tell me." "Can we at least go home, and I can tell you then?" ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ They drove in silence as Dana began to organize what she was going to say. He didn't go home however, he instead pulled off to the park he had brought her a few days before hand. They got out and sat on the hood and he waited for her to start. "Ever since I can remember, I've seen-no, I've felt colors around people. Around you I feel blackness shadow, like I said. But recently, it's been going beyond that, and I've been so scared. Lately I've been seeing- things when I really look at a person. The first person was my friend Helen, I saw her gramma in her eyes if that makes any sense. Then once I was looking in Sister Careen's eyes and I saw an older man and this time felt these emotions that weren't mine. I suddenly felt violated and ashamed, like I had been raped. I didn't know what to think, and later I found out from one of the other nuns that Sister Careen had been molested as a child by her father. My first thought was that was the person I saw and I got really scared." she paused for a moment before continuing. "Then tonight when I was looking at your blackness and into your eyes, I saw a little girl, and suddenly felt all this incredible loss. I don't know if that means anything to you." He looked at her intently, and was almost too shocked to move at first. Then he brought out his wallet and showed her a picture. "The little girl in this picture, is that who you saw?" he asked his voice strained. Dana looked at the little girl, and began to cry, feeling all his emotions as well as her own fear of her ability. "Oh, Fox, I feel the loss, the hurt, its so strong I can hardly breathe." she collapsed from her sobbing. He embraced her and tried to comfort his fears in her. "Who is she Fox?" "My sister Samantha. She-she was taken from me when I was twelve." She knew all this already though, as if the story was already familiar to her. "She was eight and she was taken into the light." Dana said, pulling away from him in an almost catatonic state. "The light was strong and you were left helpless. So helpless, all you wanted to do was save her, but you were helpless." She felt every emotion that he had felt in the nine years since the abduction all in the course of a few minutes. He watched her go through it all in awe, realizing the great amount of power she had. Finally when she was finished, she collapsed against the car, weak and exhausted. He took her into his arms and held her tight. "This gift you have is incredible, Dana. It was wrong of your mother to force you to repress it. You should be training in it, learning to use it to it's full capacity. What did you just get from the picture?" "I know it all, I felt every feeling. It's so raw and horrible, we have to find her we have to find that light, we have to find it and get her back." she said with a certain amount of passion in her voice. "I've tried my whole life, and I'll never stop trying. But I can't do it here. I know there is a place out there that has all, that has every story about the light. All I want is to find this place and go through every story, until I find the one that has my sister." "We'll find this place Fox and find the truth about the light. We'll do it together and no one will stop us. Every story that's abnormal has a truth to it. All it needs is to be uncovered." She looked up at him again and at that moment they drunk the eternal communion and their souls were forever bonded. He gently stroked her cheek, wiping away the last of the tears. "Have you been kissed before Dana?" he asked simply. She shook her head and felt a slight thrill from him in her emotional connection to him. He bent over and lightly kissed her, sealing the forever pact they had just silently made. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ When they returned home, he insisted that he sleep beside her, just to make sure she wouldn't be scared in the night. Truthfully, she didn't need a lot of convincing on this idea. He cuddled her into his arms and she dozed off instantly, tired out by the emotional strain she had gone through that night. She awoke early the next morning, jolted out of her sleep by a vivid dream of Samantha's abduction. She sat up and saw that he too had been awoken abruptly. "You were dreaming about Samantha's abduction, weren't you?" she asked him. "Yes." "So was I." He looked at her in amazement before he spoke. "This is incredible. Being with you is like a Christmas morning that never ends. All these gifts that have yet to be opened." "Interesting analogy." she grinned and leaned forward, kissing him, then stood up. "I better get going." "What do you mean?" "Fox, it's Sunday, I gotta go to church." He looked at her puzzled for a moment then laughed. "Are you serious?" he asked. "Yes." she looked slightly offended, and turned away from him to gather up her uniform. He jumped up and turned her around embracing her. "What makes you think I'll let you go?" he grinned. "Fox, please don't fight me on this," she said, but leaned into his hold on her. He kissed her forehead and somewhat reluctantly let her go. "Alright, you run along home. I'll be by the school to pick you up tomorrow." She pulled on the kilt under the long t-shirt of his that she had slept in and put her blouse on over it, tucking the shirt in. She put on her shoes and coat and went to the door. "I'll leave my new clothes here," she said," I don't think Mommy and Daddy would appreciate them too much." "Alright," he said as he went over to her. He kissed her full force, bending her back as he did. When he pulled away she felt her head spinning. "Something for you to think about during church." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Dana Katherine sat between her sister and mother at church that morning, in a prim white dress, her hair up in a bun, her face free of any makeup. She looked around the magnificent cathedral and all the imposing grandeur of the Catholic church and felt racked with guilt. How could she turn her back on all this, the most powerful force of her life? Tears moistened her eyes as she listened to the haunting songs floating form the choir of nuns in the choir loft. It was all she had ever known and was taught that it was she ever needed to know. Her mother looked over at her strangely and Dana quickly hid her face. She had been hiding all morning, feeling that they could see her very guilt, Fox's kisses on her lips, that her dreadful secret had left her. Dana looked around her and noticed her sister was staring at her as well, except with a "What the hell is your problem?" look. She resented this from Melissa and glared back at her in very un-Dana-Katherine-like fashion. Suddenly she felt her whole body tingle and her aura go like electricity. She could feel him so close and sure enough, when she glanced behind her he was sitting there in the back row of the church, grinning like a Tomcat at her. She looked forward again quickly, not wanting to draw any undo attention to him. Her cheeks went red when as she felt his amusement float towards her. She looked around at him again and then turned back to her mother. "I have to go to the bathroom," she mumbled to her quickly, then shuffled her way out of the pew. She walked out of the church passing him along the way. He winked at her and she looked at him with an unamused face. He followed her out and went to the little alcove in the church foyer where she was waiting. "Nothing like Sunday-morning mass." he grinned at her. "Fox, what are doing here? Are you trying to get me in trouble?" she snapped at him. "No, I wasn't even planning on talking to you. I just knew that you'd get here and feel guilty for spending the weekend with me. And I wasn't about to loose you to the Catholic church." "Well, you're right I am feeling guilty." "I knew you would be. But remember, what you did this weekend was your choice and you're in charge of your life, not the church or you're parents." he cupped her chin in his hand and drew her face up to his. He looked around to see if anyone was there then, kissed her gently. She smiled in spite of herself as she watched him leave and turned to go back into the church. Her heart seized when she found Melissa standing at the door, her eyes wide with shock. "Did I just see what I thought I saw?" Melissa asked in amazement. "Did I just see Little Miss Goodie-Two-Shoes Dana kissing Fox Mulder?" "Missy, please don't tell Mommy and Daddy! Please, Missy!" Dana ran to her sister and grasped her arm in her hand, a pleading look in her eyes. "Dana, when did all this start?" she said, a smile on her face. "First promise me you won't tell Mom and Dad!" "Of course I won't tell them! Now, when did you start seeing him?" "It's a long story. . ." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Sure enough, Fox's car pulled into the school parking lot the next day while Dana sat in her Math class. She smiled like a Cheshire cat when she saw him and winked at him. A few minutes later she was down running towards him in the parking lot, but something rather someone stopped her dead in her tracks. Phoebe was standing there, her eyes blazing in anger. She looked at Fox and then at Dana and began her assault. "What's this Fox, you've been spending all this time with her!! Dana Scully, everyone's little ass kisser." But he had no time to answer due to Dana pushing her way in front of Phoebe. "I'll ask you not to insult me, deary." she snarled at her, but Perry only laughed at her in return. "Oh, isn't that cute! But listen, little girl, you don't want to mess with me. You wouldn't come out alive." She looked at the gold cross hanging around her neck and took it in her hand. "Isn't this precious? We have the Virgin Mary here herself, that is if Fox hasn't got you drunk enough yet to get some." With that she yanked at the chain and broke it. She turned to Fox and smiled at him. "Shall we go?" She asked. "I'm not going anywhere with you, Phoebe." "Oh, you can't honestly tell me that this little prick is more satisfying than me! Come on Fox, you'd have to take the stick out of her ass before you fuck her!" "That's enough Phoebe, I'll deal with you later." Fox reached out a hand for Dana to come. She went over to him and she got in the car. He got in after her and gave Phoebe a level glance before they turned to drive away. "I'm sorry about that , I should have dealt with her along time ago." He apologized after they were gone. "It's alright. She's lost, I could see a lot of hurt in her aura. She sees our bond and it scared the hell out of her." Dana said, curling her hand around his. "Good, I want her to be scared. She's a tramp and I've always known it. But I was lonely and needed someone, so she had to suffice." "Do I suffice?' she asked in a quiet little voice. "You fill my whole world. You're like a banquet after a drought. You do more than suffice." She was apparently satisfied with the answer and grinned up at him. "Now that we have each other, the rest of the world can be damned." she decreed, looking out to the future open in front of them. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ They went out to the park again and talked for hours, sitting on the hood of his car intertwined in one another's arms. She loved this time; she felt she could tell Fox anything, and was so comforted at having him so close. This was her safe haven and she resented the fact that she had to leave him. "I hate when we're apart," she said with a slight pout that he couldn't resist leaning over and kissing. "I know, but that's how things have to be right now." he stroked the slight curve of her cheekbone as he spoke to her so softly. "When will we be together?" "Soon, dear, very soon." It had only been a week, yet she couldn't imagine her life without him. She was ready at this point to go with him anywhere, yes, even leave the safe nest of her family to follow him. Three o'clock rolled around and she knew she needed to get home. They got back into his car and he drove her to the end of her street and dropped her off, after many "one last kiss"es. She watched his car drive away and felt a loss inside of her. Parting from him was difficult, she felt like she was missing a part of herself. When she got inside her house no one was home but her sister who pounced on her the moment she entered. "You've been with him haven't you?" she asked with a devilish smile. "Yes." "I could tell, you're glowing." she grinned at her. "I'm going to the mall you wanna come?" "I have some homework I should. . .ah, forget it, I'll come." They went to the mall and Melissa left her on her own. Dana wandered around for awhile until she found herself in front of a lingerie store. She stood hesitantly at the door for awhile then went in. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ She somehow convinced her parents to let her go out that night to stay at this 'friend's' house. She had joyously packed up the things she had purchased that afternoon and skipped her way to Fox's house. He was more than pleased that she could "come out to play" as he put it. He swept her into his apartment with open arms and a kiss. "I hate being away from you," he said burying his face into her neck. "So where shall we go tonight?" she asked as he set her down. "Where ever you want to go." "Let's go back to where we went on Saturday. Just let me go and change." She grabbed the clothes form before and her overnight bag and went into the bathroom. "I did a little shopping today." She came out in the short silver shorts, the platform boots, a thin white cotton tank top that showed a black lace bra underneath with her hair in two braids laying on both shoulders. He didn't know what to say at first, finding himself tongue-tied. She grinned at his reaction and sauntered her way up to him. "Do you like it?" she asked with an evil grin. He reached up and traced the lines of the bra. "This new?' he asked and she nodded, still smiling. "I eagerly await seeing the other items you purchased then." "Oh all in due time, dear, all in due time." she kissed him slowly, finding herself extremely good at seducing him. "Is this the same little blushing schoolgirl that I played 'I Spy' with a week ago?" "Oh no, that girl's gone now." she kneeled down and straddled his lap, smiling at his reaction. "Dana be careful," he warned, "Don't start anything you don't intend on finishing." "Oh I fully intended on finishing this eventually." she ran her fingers over his full lower lip and made a little unintentional purring noise. She looked at him shocked at her noise and he laughed at her. "I feel like I'm the prey," he said, smiling. "You should dear" ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Dana returned home that night glowing with the love that filled her so completely. The night she had just shared with Fox had been incredible and she felt euphoric from it. She snuck quietly into the house knowing it was late and hoping not to wake anyone. She was a step away from her bedroom door when she heard her Ahab's voice. "Just what do you think you're doing Dana Katherine Scully?" her heart froze as she slowly turned around to face her father. He frowned down at her and pulled her into the kitchen. "Where have you been all night?" he asked sitting her down. "At-at Helen's.." she stumbled out looking down at the floor. "Dana I called Helen's an hour ago and she said you hadn't been with her all day." Uh oh, Dana thought. "Plus," her father went on, "The school called today saying you had told them you were sick and had missed several classes in the last week. And you ran out at church on Sunday. I want this to stop Dana, this is irresponsible behavior and I will not except it. You stop this now or else you will be punished. Do you understand?" Dana's father was a reasonable man where he wasn't easily angered and remained calm in these kind of situations. But he was irrational in where he demanded immediate obeying of his decrees and wouldn't allow any room for explanations. If there was something wrong he would stop it and that would be that. And Dana bent under his strong voice, and her guilt over her past actions and love for Fox overwhelmed her in the face of her Ahab's commands. " I will Daddy I promise. I'm sorry for disobeying you." "You're forgiven Starbuck, now off to bed with you." Dana went miserably to bed, washing off the makeup and burying the black lace bra deep in her closet. She curled up in bed and cried, knowing that her love for Fox was really stronger than her loyalty to her family and to the church. She realized that night that she couldn't stay there much longer. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fox pulled up in the school parking lot while Dana was in her first class and she up and left the moment she saw him. She needed to talk to him badly to tell him what had happened with her father. She ran across the lot to him and threw her arms around his neck hugging him tightly. "Oh sweetheart," she sighed. "We need to talk." "What's wrong hunny?" But before she could answer Phoebe's voice came in from behind her. "Well isn't this sweet? Dana the little bitch hugging my man..." She sneered. Dana turned around and glared angrily at her. "Fuck off Phoebe," she growled. "Whatever deary...." she smiled maliciously. "Tell me Dana, have you been fucked by him yet? I especially love it when he calls out my name in such pleasure." Fox was just about to take control of the situation when Dana started. "That's it you little fucking whore!!" Dana pushed Phoebe full force, causing her to break the necklace. She began to kick her and pull her hair, and throw a few well aimed punches. Dana was an old pro at fighting, thanks to many wrestling matches with her brothers. Once Phoebe recovered her wits she attempted to fight back, but her attempts were futile. Dana already had her to the ground moaning in pain. She finally stopped and pulled away in disgust, putting shaking her achy knuckles out. "Actually its my name he calls out in pleasure." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fox had driven them to their park, not saying anything just occasionally looking over at Dana in awe. She never ceased to amaze him; he thought he to be this delicate flower but she was still able to take care of business. At the park she told him about what had happened with her father and the need for them to leave soon. "Dana, where would we go?" Before she could answer a man emerged from the shadows. He was an older man, in a long black trenchcoat with dark hair and a worried wise face. They were taken aback by his intrusion but he silenced them with a wave of his gloved hand. "There isn't much time for me to say what I have to say, so I must be brief." he started. "I have observed you two for awhile now, you initially Mulder, and now with you Miss Scully, and your gift of extra sensory perception. And I believe know you are both ready to know what I want to tell you. There is a place where you can find the answers you seek Mr. Mulder. In the FBI there is a department that was opened by J. Edgar Hoover, called the X Files. These files are based on unexplainable events and occurrences. Your sister has an X File Mr. Mulder. This would be a way for you to find what you seek what both of you seek, a way to find the truth." He was gone before they could respond and once he left an unearthly silence fell over them. After a few minutes Dana reached over and took his hand. "Washington" she whispered simply and looked over at him with tear filled eyes. "Washington" he responded covering her hand with his. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ They pulled up to her house around 4pm that evening. They had spent the day taking out all the money they could cashing in savings bonds and pawning possessions for money. She went quietly into the house to retrieve a few personal items and brought them out to Fox's car. He grasped her hand and held her there for a moment. "Are you going to tell them?" "I-I don't know." she faltered. Her decision was settled when her father came outside and say ox's car in the driveway. "Dana what is going on here?" She went to him and bite her bottom lip trying to be strong in the face of her father. "I'm leaving, Daddy." "What do you mean?" he called into the house. "Maggie come here!" Dana's mother emerged from the house and was shocked to see Fox's car as well. "What's happening here?" she asked. Dana took a deep breath and looked her parents straight in the eye. "Mom, Daddy, I'm leaving. I love Fox Mulder, and-and I want, no I need to be with him. Please don't try to stop me, this is something I have to do. Always know I love you." "Dana Katherine Sc...." her father's words were a waste as she turned and got into Fox's car. He started up and drove away, as she wept silently watching her parents fade in the distance. All they could say was "we had no idea...." Fox left her alone for the first hour after they left her parents home. It was she who snaked an arm out to him and grasped his hand in hers. He looked over at her and smiled warmly and she managed to return it. "Thank you Dana." "I should be thanking you Fox. This is the way our lives are meant to be, and I love you/" she smiled honestly this time and snuggled up to his side as he drove, the highway stretching out in front of them. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 1993 "Mr. and Mrs. Mulder to see you Mr. Skinner." The couple entered the office silently, the man tall and lanky yet lithe in his movements. He put a hand on the small of his wife's back, a petite and classically beautiful red head. They say down and immediately all in the room felt the silent bond between them. AD Skinner took a moment to observe this before beginning. "So we have here...." he flipped through their file "Agents Mulder and Agent *Doctor* Scully-Mulder.... I was reviewing your personnel files last night regarding your request to work on the X Files. First of all we usually don't allow married couple to be work partners but you two seem to be an exception..... left home at ages 18 and 22.... married at ages 24 and 20.... ....you Agent Mulder worked to put your wife through medical school, and then you joined the academy together.... and now you have requested to work on the X Files division together. I have to say we were hoping that two extremely talented agents like yourself would chose something more... grounded." "May I speak sir?" the woman interjected and Skinner allowed her to. "It has been my husband and mine's main goal since we left our home in Indiana 15 years ago that we would work on the X files division. Things have happened to delay this, like the birth of our daughter Samantha 5 years ago, but we have always had this goal set in our minds and we have sacrificed much to reach it." "Thank you Agent Mulder. I-we have considered your request and we have decided to grant you access to the X files division and make you special agents." The couple smiled and beamed with a completeness rarely seen, and they grasped hands tightly becoming for a moment the only to people in the room. The AD cleared his throat and dismissed them and turned to the others in the room. He raised the Morley to his lips and looked at the AD. "If they get too close....." he took a slow drag "take the daughter. We've done it before.....we'll see how much they're willing to sacrifice." The End Author's Notes: I'd like to take this opportunity to promote my prot‚g‚e, Rebma Reyem. Her works will be posted on line soon and please give them a read there are excellent, especially if your a skinner fan... (she may even take over her master's achievements who knows!) Okay onto the original story started mid sept. 96... Enjoy! This little piece was loosely inspired by "And the Thunder Summons" but is a very different piece of Fanfic. The best thing I can compare it to is what comic books call "Else worlds". For those who don't know what I'm talking about, just read on. It also has its origins in the picture of GA in the Rolling Stone as a teen. This piece is an original idea, as well as showing the erotic nature of our god and goddess' relationship. This is dedicated to my new chat friend Action Scully.
